SINGING SEMINARIANS FLY - A group of
singing Seminarians of St. Anthony Seminary, El Paso, enjoy a bit of
relaxation at the Bassett Center Super Slide. They are singing at the
Center in the Mall.
The singing Seminarians of St. Anthony Seminary, play various instruments while performing primarily string instruments. They have appeared on the Cerebral Palsy telethon program and are scheduled to appear again next year.
They are in the process of cutting a record album because of the numerous demands made by the listening audience of the Telethon,. The record will go on sale in the near future. These young musicians are all self taught and use their limited free time at the Seminary to relax while playing.
During the summer months of each year, they travel to the interior of Mexico and help educate various peoples including the Tarahumara Indians. They are able to more readily approach and reach the backwards people in those areas. They are scheduled to appear at Bassett Center Saturday Aug. 31 at 2 and 4 p.m.
They will also be performing during the annual St. Anthony Bazaar on Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 2 on the Seminary grounds, Hastings and Crescent avenues.
I remember that big slide ride. It was in the parking lot near the Fox Bassett movie theater.
