Hazard Of Working In Reno-Hallas Melee Makes Job Unattractive

From all indications, the El Paso Wrestling association is going to have to resort to the Want Ad columns with an advertisement similar to that above before it finds a referee for the bill Hallas – Joe Reno match Tuesday night.
Promoter John McIntosh last night was casting about trying to find someone capable of filling the bill and referees are very scarce, despite the depression.
In this particular instance, however, the hazard sand not the work is keeping referees away because mat fans who have seen Hallas and Reno in action are confident that everything from mayhem to murder may be committed in the hemped circle before an opponent for Welterweight Champion Jack Reynolds is determined.
Tourny Ends
The Hallas-Reno mat will wind up the welterweight tournament which has brought some fine wrestling to El Paso during the past month. Strangely enough, two of the roughest welters in the game have survived to reach the semi-finals and anything that happens will not come unexpected.
To make the cars what promises to set a record for all-time roughness, Joe Parelli, the Walloping Wop from Dallas, tangles with Jack Weller, El Paso’s favorite middleweight, in a one-fall semi-final.
Francisco Aguayo, Mexican light heavyweight, has agreed to referee the semi-final, McIntosh said, but the problem of a referee for the main event is worrying the dapper Scotch promoter.
In a special event, Mysterious Jack Carson and Tommy Rascon will meet in a mixed match, jiu jitsu and catch-as-catch-can, to a finish.
