Ascarate Township Tuesday decided that the ordinance against allowing livestock near residences will be enforced. A rehearing followied complaints from residents of San Juan.
The township also voted to buy a second fire truck, a war surplus pumping model, for $3500. The volunteer fire department goes into operation Wednesday and will be bolstered in the near future by the new equipment.
“We feel that the two trucks, plus the new fire plugs we are installing, will give us the fire protection needed to get a downward revision of fire insurance rates.” Mayor M. C. Tracy said. “We are going to ask for an early review of the local rates by the Texas Insurance Commission.”
A Border Butane Gas and Oil Co. plant will be erected on Mrs. Josephine Clardy Fox’s El Paso Drive property, if the Texas Railroad Commission approves. The council granted permission for the structure after permission was obtained from owners of adjoining land.
The council also approved asking the county to repair bridges on Second Street after Alderman W. A. Adams, Jr., reported that the bridges will not sustain fire trucks safely.
Oh, nuts. I almost relocated there, so I could take my favorite cow with me.
What's next!
