Body of James F. Featherstone, 63, Sioux City, Ia., veteran of three wars who died in an El Paso hospital Tuesday, will be the first to be buried in the recently-opened Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
Mr. Featherstone was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection, and the first World War. He had been an El Paso resident for three months.
Mr. Featherstone is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Crady, Palo Alto, Cal., Mrs. May Pendleton, Sioux City, Ia., and Mrs. Elizabeth Watkins, Guthrie, Okla., and three brothers, John Featherstone, Kansas City, Mo., W.R. Featherstone, Los Angels, Cal., and Andrew Featherstone, San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral services will be held in the Kaster and Maxon Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Chaplain A.H. Parker officiating.
Members of Hamilton Fish Camp No. 2, United Spanish War Veterans, American Legion Post No. 36, Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars will serve as escort from the mortuary to the cemetery.
