El Paso Police Monday were investigating a robbery by assault in which a disabled San Antonio, Tex., resident who had befriended two young El Paso residents got slapped and lost $38.
The San Antonio resident, who must use a wheelchair, told police he had offered the young man and woman a ride from the Alamo City to El Paso.
When the three of them reached El Paso, the San Antonio man was directed to N. Kansas street, where the woman left the automobile and the man slapped the complainant and took $38 from an ashtray on the dashboard of the car.
The San Antonio man provided a clothing and physical description of the young man, 20-21 years of age and the 19-year-old woman.
Other cases under investigation Monday included:
Burglary of a storage trailer in which four rolls of copper wire, a pipe cutter, pipe threader, a jack hammer and a set of dies for the threader were stolen. An employee of an electrical firm doing work at that location reported the burglary occurred between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
Burglary of a car wash at in which a calculator, a typewriter and an adding machine were stolen.
Burglary of a residence under construction in which 13 interior, hollow core, mahogany doors, two interior louver doors, a metal rod for a closet and a faucet know were stolen.
