Get your facts straight; Tim Floyd did NOT cost UTEP losing a scholarship. This was part of the report from the NCAA APR. Check this link out verifying what I just wrote.

I don't think that's possible. The NCAA Can't impose sanctions directly on UTEP for activities that Floyd allegedly engaged in at USC. What they could do, is place a restriction directly on Floyd. For example, they could limit the number of days he could spend on the recruiting trail, or limit the number of phone calls he could make during a given time frame.
The scholarship reduction announced today had nothing to do with Floyd. It was a direct result of UTEP's Academic Progress Rate (APR). The APR is scored based on UTEP's scholarship athlete retention and eligibility. If players aren't finishing the required number of hours each semester, etc.

Just wanted to chime in. Just like the previous comments, Floyd is not responsible for the one lost scholarship. That's a result of the APR score of 921... anything below 925 is subject to penalty.
