Gary Parrish says today that:
Former UTEP standout Arnett Moultrie has developed into the hottest transfer on the market.
Most high-major programs in the south -- Tennessee, Memphis, Kentucky, Texas, etc., -- have inquired about the 6-foot-11 forward since the Memphis native withdrew from the NBA Draft last week and announced he would not return to UTEP.
But UTEP is apparently playing hardball and refusing to release Moultrie, making him sit out a year no matter where he goes.

LET THE MAN GO, WHERE EVER HE WANTS TO GO! DO NOT TRY TO BLACKBALL HIM! HE HAS PLENTY OF TALENT AND DESERVES TO PLAY AND THAT DOESNT MEAN AT UTEP ONLY! ITS SAD THAT THINGS DIDNT WORKOUT FOR HIM HERE, BUT DONT TAKE HIS CAREER OR DREAMS AWAY! GOOD LUCK ARNETTE WHEREEVEVER YOU END UP!

CUSA and NCAA rules:
He has to sit out a year no matter where he goes.
His NBA stock for 2011 is a big zero due to this.
If he goes to another CUSA school he will loose one year of eligibility; this to include Auburn because Barbee departed a CUSA school and the conference does not want a conference school poaching from another member.
I guess there is a rule that UTEP can invoke that applies to other designated schools also.

He's history, don't make it any harder on him. Let's move on and concentrate on the ones being recruited or coming back, UTEP will survive and be much better without him.

Dear NCAA, you give Floyd a pass on the ethics investigation, and we'll let Arnett out of his obligations.

"Most high majors in the South" doesn't mean EVERYBODY wants Moultrie...and if he goes to another division 1 school he'll have to sit out regardless.

I don't want to come across as hardass but after all, a Man has to take responsiblity for his decision and actions. I've always told my sons that they will be held responsible for all decisions made, good or bad. I wish Moultrie & Character a lot of luck and even thou I feel they betrayed our program, I hope they succeed where ever they end up.
