Eric Price, son of UTEP head football coach Mike Price, has been named offensive coordinator for the Memphis Tigers.
Eric Price was UTEP's offensive coordinator from 2004-2007.
But now he's going to be doing battle with dad in Conference USA. Here's hoping he respects his elders.

It's going to be very scary when Eric Price gets his hands on some SEC leftovers and those big offensive lineman Memphis always recruits.
If he does well at Memphis he'll get a better offer someplace else (maybe SEC coordinator) and likely not want to be a head coach at UTEP. Bad for us.

But look on the bright side -- Mike Leach might be available to coach the Miners by then.

Football season is over. How dedicating our attention to a team that won't disappoint, the basketball team. This team is definitely making me forget the dreadful, painful and disappointing football season.

Eric Price is a good one and indeed a great hire for Memphis. Dennis Erikson at ASU should have snatched him up. Good reporting and this story Jay. You were way out in front on this one.....

Getting off topic here. Seems Mike Leach got a raw deal from some whiny diva kid and the university. Where are we going with us? In the future, can coaches be fired for yelling at the student-athletes for messing up a play?
I would take Leach @UTEP in a heartbeat. Anyone?

Anybody worried about June Jones and SMU?

I'm not sure what you're asking about June Jones and Hawaii.
Are we worried that SMU will get really good? I hope they do. People always complain about the quality of play in CUSA. I believe that the rivalries we had in the WAC were due to the competition being good. We hated BYU because they were good. If SMU is not a worthy opponent, then what do we aspire to be?
