UTEP Miners’ head coach Mike Price was happy after his team’s 16-10 win over New Mexico State in the Battle of I-10.
The biggest play of the game was UTEP’s fake punt from their own 29-yard line on 4th-and-7 — a play called by special teams coordinator Jeff Banks. Price talked about presenting Banks with a pair of large plastic toy balls, one marked “PREPARATION”, the other “OPPORTUNITY”.
The Miners travel to play 17th-ranked South Florida in Tampa Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPN Gameplan and can be seen on ESPN3.com for Time Warner Cable subscribers.
