Time Warner Cable Sports feature on Tim Floyd follows below, but first Floyd introduces longtime friend and associate Phil Johnson as his top assistant coach. Johnson was an assistant on Floyd's staff with the Chicago Bulls and also won a national championship with Lute Olsen at Arizona.
Miners fans might remember the time UTEP season ticket holder and haranguer extraordinaire, attorney Phil Ortega, got Johnson -- then the head coach at former WAC foe San Jose State -- to turn and argue with him until both had to be restrained by UTEP security. The two have since passed over those troubled waters and Ortega was at the press conference to do some mugging for the cameras with Johnson at the end.
