The Miners tracked paint all over their offensive game...which was a good thing, as UTEP survived a dreadful first half to come back on one of its C-USA nemeses, beating Houston, 65-58, to move to 7-1 in conference play.

That's just shy of two-thirds of their point total!
Former Cougar Hakeem "Don't Call Me 'Akeem'" Olajuwon is hanging his head in shame.
It still makes me wonder if former UTEP Senior Associate AD and current UH Athletic Director Mack Rhodes will pull the plug on Tommy Penders' mousse tap -- and if former Miner Mack Daddy Billy Clyde Gillispie makes his return to the game at Hofheinz Pavilion.
A moist head coach Tony Barbee was warm, but happy, along with G Randy Culpepper, who suffered from bad cramping in the second half after doing everything but opening a vein for his team to key the rally in the first half that got UTEP back within four points by halftime.
Clutch free throws from F Jeremy Williams contributed mightily, and he talked about the shots and the win that almost wasn't.
