The El Paso Crush, a team comprised of high school softball players from El Paso (and one from Carlsbad) with aspirations of playing at the college level, won the Texas ASA 18 "A" State Tournament in Harker Heights, Texas.
The Crush went undefeated and outscored its opponents 43 to 7 in seven games.
By winning the tournament, they not only were crowned State CHampions for that age group and classification, but they also clinched a berth to the USA/ASA Class A National Championship to be held in Johnson City, Tennessee from July 28 thru Aug. 5. Over 100 of the best fastpitch teams from throughout the country are expected to be at this event. ASA awards only six berths from Texas to this prestigious tournament.
The players attend Hanks, Americas, Franklin, Chapin, Clint, Irvin and Loretto Academy. The team consists of the following players and coaches in no particular order:
