It seems like they can turn anything into a musical these days, which is exactly what the team behind "Jersey Boys" did with the '60s TV show "The Addams Family."
The musical version, which features songs by Tony-nominated up-and-comer Andrew Lippa, will close out the Plaza Theatre's 2012-2013 Broadway season at 8 p.m. May 24-25.
It's a touring version of the musical, which features a book by "Jersey Boys" writers Marshall Brickman (who wrote a lot of movies with Woody Allen) and Rick Elice. It opened in Chicago in 2009, the moved to Broadway in 2010, with Nathan Lane as Gomez and Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia.
In the musical, daughter Wednesday Addams falls for a normal guy, and enlists her dad to keep it from her mom. Uncle Fester and Lurch get in on it.
Tickets for the El Paso performances range from $35 to $60, plus service charges, on sale at 10 a.m. March 8 at the Plaza Theatre box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and 800.745.3000.
Various presales started today and run through March 7.
