A doctor has ordered Morrissey to take two more weeks to rest from a recent illness, which means Tuesday's sold-out Tricky Falls show has been postponed.
But it will be rescheduled.
"As the doctor has ordered Morrissey to rest for two additional weeks, the upcoming Texas engagements in El Paso (2/12), Austin (2/13), Pharr (2/15), Beaumont (2/16) and Dallas (2/18) will need to rescheduled," reads an official statement from publicist Lauren Papapietro. "Morrissey is currently undergoing treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett's esophagus. These shows are in the process of being rescheduled immediately and all patrons are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as the new dates will be announced shortly. Morrissey thanks everyone concerned for their well wishes and looks forward to getting back on the road. The tour will resume as scheduled in Denver at the Temple Hoybe Buell Theatre on Feb. 21."
Bobbie Welch, one of Tricky Falls' owners, said the makeup date will be in April, but didn't have a specific date. The current tour was to run through March 14.
It's the second postponement for the show, originally set for Nov. 27. The singer postponed the last portion of his fall North American tour, 26 shows, on Nov. 5 to rush home to England to attend to his ailing mother.
The tour resumed Jan. 9, but was put on hold again Jan. 24 when he was hospitalized in Royal Oak, MI, postponing his show that night in Flint.
To date, he's had to delay 18 shows on this tour.
