It's been a few years since Austin promoter C3Concerts has done a show here, but the Austin City Limits Festival and Lollapalooza organizers are coming back with a bang, so to speak.
They've booked the Killers, the Anglophile Las Vegas rockers, for a May 4 show at the Abraham Chavez Theatre.
The band, currently touring new album "Battle Born," last played there on Sept. 17, 2007. Its first local show was at the former T-Lounge on July 23, 2004, when its much buzzed debut album, "Hot Fuss," came out.
"Battle Born," which includes the hit "Runaways," is the band's fourth album, and followed a hiatus in which singer Brandon Flowers, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci released solo albums. Guitarist Dave Keuning contributed to Flowers' album and one by the duo We Are Hyena.
Tickets are $57.50 and $65, plus service charges, on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 1 at the Plaza Theatre box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and 800.745.3000.
C3 has promoted shows here by Wilco and Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, among others.
