Founded in 1897, Jalisco's Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan is one of the oldest mariachi groups in Mexico.
Now in its fifth generation, the group, practically a mariachi orchestra, returns to the Plaza Theatre at 8 p.m. Feb. 16.
Tickets are $30 and $50, plus service charges, on sale at the box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and 800.745.3000.

• The Midtown Men, four original cast members of Broadway's "Jersey Boys," will bring their swinging vocal stylings to the Plaza at 8 p.m. Feb. 6.
"Jersey Boys" is the Tony Award-winning jukebox musical that chronicles the rise, and struggles, of '60s vocal group Frank Valli and the Four Seasons.
It includes hits such as "Sherry," "Walk Like a Man," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Working My Way Back to You" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You."
The group features Michael Longoria, who originated the role of Joe Pesci in the Broadway show, later taking over as Valli. The group also includes Christian Hoff (who played Tommy DeVito), Daniel Reichard (Bob Gaudio) and J. Robert Spencer (Nick Massi).
Tickets are $35 and $55, on sale at the same locations as Mariachi Vargas.
