When Montreal's Cirque du Soleil was here last year with "Alegria," their first appearance in El Paso, they vowed to come back.
They're making good on that promise, bringing another show, "Dralion," to UTEP's Don Haskins Center for eight shows Feb. 15-19.
That's just three days after "Wicked" ends its 16-performance run Feb. 1-12 at the Plaza Theatre.
Wonder how they are going to affect each other at the box office.
Speaking of which, tickets for "Dralion" go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 4, with presales running today through Nov. 3.
Tickets range from $28 to $145, plus service charges, with discounts for children 12 and under, seniors and military. Most tickets are in the $35 and $80 range.
They will be available at the UTEP Ticket Center, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and 800.745.3000.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15-16, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17-18 and 1 and 5 p.m. Feb. 19.
"Dralion" — pronounced "drah-lee-un" — is a combination of the words "dragon," referring to its Chinese circus and acrobatic influences, and "lion," referring to the Western circus elements (and philosophies) in the show.
It's a relatively new show, debuting in 1999. It features a 52-member cast of acrobats, musicians, gymanasts, singers and comedic actors.

2 totally different shows, Wicked is a musical and Dralion is a stoner's wet dream.

Most Cirque du Soleil performances are a stoner's wet dream. So what, they're still very cool.
