Most people know Jim Ward as a musician (At the Drive-In, Sparta, Sleepercar), bar co-owner (Hope and Anchor), studio co-owner (Clap of Thunder Recording) and all-around nice guy.
But art seller?
Ward's about to delve into the visual arts world.
Click on the tembloroso.com site he launched a while back to sell his and others music and you can buy the latest album by the Lusitania, "Rain and Rivers," which was recorded at Clap of Thunder, plus Sleepercar's "West Texas" and Ward's two EPs.
Come Feb. 14, you'll see not only that, but works of various local visual artists and musicians, turning the site into a virtual gallery and online store for visual and musical types.
Called the Tembloroso Creative Lab, it's the result of a partnership formed by Ward, his wife, Kristine Ward, owner of the Viva Creative Group owner-creative director Armando Alvarez, and web designer Brandon Silverstein of Impulse Development.
They'll launch the site officially with a party from 7-9 p.m. Feb. 18 at Hope and Anchor, 4012 N. Mesa (21 and over only admitted).
"With the talent and networks that our local artists have developed, we felt like it was a good time to ouse our abilities to create a place where they can both sell their goods and increase their profiles," Ward said in a press release.
The reconfigured site will allow for the showing and selling of art and music, blogs, an events calendar and more.
