Concert update: Chris Tomlin, Styx, Kenny Rogers and more

Contemporary Christian pop star Chris Tomlin, the Dove Awards male vocalist of the year, teams up with Israel Houghton (whose Israel and the New Breed won the best gospel Dove this year for best gospel album, for a 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Abundant Living.

Tickets are $30 GA, and go on sale Dec. 7.

In other concert news:

• No ticket info yet, but Pollstar's listing three more oldies shows at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, NM. They are Styx (March 20), Kenny Rogers (May 1) and War (June 18). Check out innofthemountaingods.com for updates.

• Its winter season is far from over, but the Spencer Theater in Alto, near Ruidoso, has booked energetic bluegrasser Rhonda Vincent and the Rage for a June 28 show.

• Alamogordo's Flickinger Center has some impressive roots music acts on its winter schedule, including North Carolina's fascinating, black string music band, Carolina Chocolate Drops on March 3 and Texas expats (and popular kids and familieis group) Trout Fishing in America on April 30.
