Concert update: Mars Volta on sale July 26; Ron White next

The El Paso homecoming of Cedric Bixler and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, better known as The Mars Volta, is official.

The band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Chavez Theatre, just two days after their Austin City Limits Festival appearance (and three days after Beck plays the theater on his way to ACL).

Tickets are $33.50. They will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26 (Mick Jagger's 65th birthday, btw).

They will be available at the Plaza Theatre box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and 544-8444.
