While the 16 members of the Andress boys basketball program deserve much of the credit for the 30-2 record along with head coach Jim Forbes, the coaching staff that Forbes has put together is impressive.
Rodney Lewis, Eric Weaver and Eugene Costello give the Eagles a veteran staff with great knowledge of the game. All have their strenghts but the one common one at least from my perspective is that they have a way with the Andress kids that helps make them better students, better people and better basketball players. A good core of assistants can sometimes make or break a program because assistants do so much with the kids in terms of the whole program. Forbes has assembled a strong willed staff who care for the kids first and foremost and it shows on the court and off the court.
Whether all three of them have the desire to be a head coach someday is up to them but if anyone of them decided on taking that next step whichever school takes a chance on them will have a good one leading the way.
