The Nov. 9 football games at the Sun Bowl between Austin vs. El Paso, Jefferson vs. Bowie and Andress vs. Irvin should be a fun day for the six teams involved.
The three games will allow several kids to create many memories that they can relive for many years to come.
The Sun Bowl is an historic stadium in El Paso and throughout the country. There have been many big-named teams and individuals that have played in the stadium and now the kids form Austin, El Paso, Jefferson, Bowie, Andress and Irvin will get the chance to step onto that field.
And these schools go back many years in the El Paso Independent School District. There have been a lot of good players attend these schools that have never gotten the chance to play in the Sun Bowl.
For years, the Franklin vs. Coronado football game has been played in the Sun Bowl and there have also been a few playoff games in the storied stadium.
Hopefully with these set of games on Nov. 9, a new tradition will start. A positive tradition that is.
