Friday's cancellation of the Dallas Prime Prep and Faith Christian came as disappointing news to many. Dallas Prime is one of the nation's top teams and has several Division I prospects on its roster. Faith Christian is a good team as well with Tulane-bound center Ray Barreno on the team.
But according to Faith Christian coach Ana Carroll, Dallas Prime Prep canceled on the Lions on Thursday, just one day before the scheduled game at Faith. Apparently Prime Prep didn't want to come for just one game. Another game with Cathedral fell through, but Carroll even offered up a second game on Saturday to lure Prime Prep to El Paso.
However, the talented team from Dallas decided on staying home. It's too bad because there appeared to be tons of interest from the game, tickets were pre-sold and it could have been a pretty good game.
If Prime Prep had canceled early in the week that would have been one thing but to cancel at the last minute doesn't show good sportsmanship. It would have great to see such a talented team play in El Paso against one of El Paso's top teams. The game would have provided a wonderful experience for Faith Christian and hopefully it would have done the same for Prime Prep.
