Great win for the Bel Air boys basketball team on Friday against Keller. The Highlanders won 60-56 in four OTs. Rob Dibler has done a nice job coaching this program the past few years and getting this program ready for a moment like this. The Highlanders will play Arlington Martin in the regional quarterfinals.
It has been a good team effort for the team this year. Bel Air has 26 wins and it's beaten several good teams. The Highlanders could have easily won a few more games as well. Bel Air gives a great effort on defense and plays unselfish on offense,

It is unfortunate that Hanks lost to Canyon in the area playoff game. After attending several games it is evident that Andy Arias is a key player for the knights. He is a playmaker and great on assists. How unfortunate that he got hurt and could not play to his potential. Overall, Hanks had another GREAT season!! Go knights! We are Hanks!

I guarantee Bel Air will lose BIG next game. They are not big enough to compete with East Texas schools.

How sad for the Haters! (EPTX) Most of these kids have been playing together since they started walking. They have stuck together and are reaping the rewards as they advance in the playoffs. From City league coaches Rick Enriquez to Chito Gallegos who have invested their time and effort in preparing these kids. KUDOS! and keep on representing Highlanders. Go BIG RED!!!

Great job by Bel Air Boys and Coach Dibler. Glad to see you and your boys have success. Coach Dibler is a class act. Represent El Paso Well. We're rooting for you.

El Paso cannot compete with East Texas, thats a fact. Coronado boys the #1 team in the city got clobbered. OVERRATED. Burges has a shot because those kids are so athletic and play hard. Bel Air will lose bad, can't win with a point guard who's only 5'6''; and we all know thats true. Every year we get a team that goes pretty far, but El Paso will never be able to get over the hump. You guys can all call me a hater, but you know its the truth.

It has been a great year for Bel Air this year including boys and girls Basketball! Looking forward to Bel Air boys winning quarter regionals and advancing! Also,I am rooting for Burges to beat Amarillo Texas and move on to the State tournament.
EPTX you are so wrong about Bel Air and El Paso Texas. Coronado has height and is a very good team ranked in the state of Texas. 1-5A is one of the toughest conference in Texas and that is what makes teams like Bel Air so hard to beat. Remember Bel Air barely lost to Coronado. They will represent El Paso well and so will Burges because it is not only about height but heart. Bel Air boys are also athletic and especially fast. Bel Air has already advanced far in the playoffs. Respectfully, I don't consider you a hater, I consider you wrong. Go Bel Air, Burges,Fabens,Tornillo, and El Paso Harmony! You have already made us proud!

You are right, Coronado does have height. But lets all get real, the number 1 team in El Paso goes to the playoffs and gets beat by 20? I am rooting for Bel Air, Burges and the rest of the schools. I do hope they win and represent El Paso. But I am predicting Bel Air gets beat by at least 15. Coronado was overrated. They have two "D1" recruits. We'll see where they both sign. Ones only 5'10'', lets all get real and stop living in fantasy land.

Bel Air made me eat my words tonight. Even though they lost, taking a big time school to double overtime is nothing to be ashamed of. Congrats on a great season. BUT I still stand by my comments about Coronado, OVERRATED!!!

Does anyone else agree with me that the Mitchell Marcus story is being blown way out of proportion? It is a feel good story, but come one. On Sports Center this morning he wasn't even on it, the coach and the Franklin player? Is this not about Mitchell? He scored a meaningless basket. If it was a close game, it would not have happened. Im not a jerk, this is the truth. Society says special needs should be treated equally. This is not even basketball, no one was defending him, nothing.
