After a successful 2011-12 season, the Tornillo boys basketball team appears headed for a strong season this year. The Coyotes are 21-5 overall and 4-0 in District 5-2A. Sophomore Irvin Bosquez has been a key factor for the team, averaging 16.1 points per game, including a 30-point and 31-point effort recently. Sammy Sanchez is also having a good year, averaging 15.5 points per game and he has a 28-point scoring effort to his name.
The Coyotes are playing pretty good basketball at the point in the season and look to be headed for a strong push in the postseason. And this team appears to have a bright future with several of its key players being underclassmen.
