When Coronado and Franklin meet in girls basketball action on Friday night at Franklin, there will be plenty at stake besides bragging rights for the top team on the West Side. Franklin is 7-1 in District 1-5A action and tied for first with Bel Air, while Coronado is 6-2, one game back. Franklin already owns a win against Coronado earlier this season and has been playing its best ball of the season over the past month. The key for Franklin will be guard play, which has been very good led Laneah Bryan and Julie Ramirez. Coronado has shown it has good guard play as well this year led by Ashley Zubia and Leann Fino.
There isn't much seperation between Franklin and Coronado, so expect a close game. The difference could come at the free throw line and in the post where whichever team rebounds better should win.
