Hanks senior wide receiver Patrick Pettis received an offer from Ole Miss this week.
Pettis, 6-foot, 185 pounds, has climbed up the prospect boards in recent weeks with his strong hands, 4.4 40-yard dash speed and excellent route running. Scout.com recently listed Pettis as a 2-star recruit, which prompted attention and an offer from a Southeastern Conference school — arguably the best conference in the nation.
Pettis already has more than 300 total yards in three games this season. Last year, he totaled more than 1,000 yards of offense.
Pettis had been heavily recruited by New Mexico and New Mexico State. Bigger schools, like TCU and Texas Tech, have also begun to show interest.
