Burges athlete Aaron Jones is starting to get a lot of attention from Division I schools — in football and basketball.
The latest school to join the mix for Jones' football services is UCLA and the junior will actually take an official visit on Saturday. Other schools interested in Jones for football are: Kentucky, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Utah, Duke and Tulsa.
Jones (5-10, 170, 4.4 40-yard dash) could play either offense or defense in college, likely projecting as either a defensive back, slot receiver or third-down running back. Jones has rushed for 930 yards and has 14 total touchdowns while racking up 67 tackles, an interception and six pass break-ups. Jones and his versatility are a major reason why Burges is back in the playoffs after several down years (The Mustangs won three games total in 2009 and 2010).
Jones is also a top basketball recruit. Xavier and Oregon State have already shown interest.
It is important to note Jones has a twin brother, Alvin, who is getting basketball attention from Oregon State and football interest from Tulsa. The two are very close.
