In a key District 1-5A boys basketball game, Franklin edged out El Dorado 38-35 on Tuesday night on the road, giving the Aztecs their first district loss.
Franklin was led by Christian Gore's 14 points and El Dorado's players were all held to single digits with M.J. McFarland coming the closest with nine points.
Franklin (11-8) is 4-2 in district putting them half a game behind El Dorado (14-4) at 4-1.

El Dorado, Franklin, Eastwood, Hanks, Montwood, and Americas will be fighting for 4 playoff spots. Two good teams will be staying home. No question that Bel Air, Coronado and Socorro will knock off some of the playoff contenders. Happens every year.
