Members of the Miner Maniacs were excited as the UTEP football opened the third with new energy Saturday Oct. 6. Despite being down 17-0 at halftime, the Miners came out with renewed energy. They moved into field goal range and fans anticipated their first score. (Top photo) The Miner Maniacs cheered their team as they moved toward the SMU goal line. (Middle photo) They watched the flight of a field goal attempt with anticipation. (Bottom photo) Disappointed fans react as the kick was no good. Neither team scored in the second half, giving SMU the 17-0 victory.

These are not real "Miner Maniacs". After the blocked field goal in the third quarter, they all walked out. A real Miner Maniac would of stayed through the whole game and cheered till the end!!! They don't deserve to walk on that field!!!
