The Yucca Council of the Boy Scouts of America joined with the Rotary Club of El Paso for the 2012 Distinguished "Good Scout" Luncheon Oct 11 at the Marriott Hotel. The honoree for the luncheon was Texas Governor and former Eagle Scout Rick Perry. (Top photo) Governor Rick Perry, in the helping spirit of a scout, tied the laces of Scout Mitch Gonzalez' shoe as brother Ernie Gonzalez watched in amusement. Perry had just arrived for the luncheon when he sat down with the brothers. (Bottom photo) Scouts walked past a projection screen which had a heartfelt message for those in attendance.

it is not former Eagle Scout, it should have said Eagle Scout. Once a scout becomes an Eagle Scout, he is an Eagle Scout for life
