A welder is dwarfed by a huge sculpture as he works in Juarez across the Rio Grande from El Paso's Modesto Gomez Park. When finished, the sculpture will stand almost 200 feet tall and will be in the shape of an "X." The artwork, known as "the X" and designed by Chihuahua artist Sebastian, celebrates ethnic diversity in Mexico by honoring Mexican citizens who are of Indian, Spanish and Mexican descent. Once completed, plans are for the monument to have a restaurant and an outlook to view El Paso and Juarez.
