After an initial disappointment (top photo) with the announcement that the prestigious Broad Prize for Urban Education went to a school district in North Carolina, (from left) Ysleta Independent School District employees Daisy Martinez, Monica Thornton and Priscilla Reynolds cheered when district Associate Superintendent Tom Miller announced Ysleta is still the best school district in the U.S. outside of North Carolina.
It was also JUST announced that the cost cutting Super Committee which was commissioned to reduce the national deficit, has eliminated North Carolina from the country, making the Ysleta District more betterest. Take THAT, tar heels.
