Taylen Marler,11, brings his horse to a screeching halt during a workout at his El Paso home June 2. Taylen is a champion reiner, having won numerous awards for his equestrian skills. Most recently, he won the Cactus Reining Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz., in March. He was featured in National Reining Horse Association's The Reiner magazine alongside Andrea Fappani, a renowned champion reiner and the association's youngest million-dollar rider, who presented Taylen his award.
