Governor appoints him again, following his defeat in election
Gov.
Susana Martinez on Friday appointed J. Miles Hanisee to the state Court of Appeals, the second time she has done so.
Hanisee, a Republican from Albuquerque, will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Celia Foy Castillo.
Hanisee is a sitting member of the Court of Appeals, having been appointed by Martinez in July 2011 to fill an earlier vacancy.
He ran in the November election in hopes of holding that seat, but lost to Democrat M. Monica Zamora.
