Libertarian presidential candidate stuck in quicksand
Johnson's camp cannot seem to account for his appearances, much less get him on the giant stage.
It sent a press release today saying Johnson would hold an online town hall meeting -- either Tuesday or Thursday.
We sought clarification via email, but got no response. In looking further, an entry on Johnson's website says the event is indeed on Thursday night, just in case you want to participate.
Johnson will be going head-to-head with prime-time Olympic coverage. Listening to his town hall meeting would be more exciting than beach volleyball but perhaps not as interesting as the equestrian.
A former two-term governor of New Mexico as a Republican, Johnson remains an unknown to most of America. His campaign is keeping it that way.
No Libertarian candidate for president has ever carried a state. At this stage, Johnson does not appear capable of playing the spoiler role, even in New Mexico.
