Pablo Salcido, charged with the murder in 1930 of "Queen" Nellie Medina, his sweetheart, was in jail again Thursday after stabbing Dr. Rodolfo A. Pereyra, Juarez, six times with an ice pick.
"I don't know why I did it," Salcido said. "The ice pick was handy when the doctor started to treat me and I hit him with it."
Salcido has been under care of Dr. Pereyra since his release from Juarez jail. He was found not guilty of the murder charge by reason of insanity.
Dr. Pereyra was not seriously injured. The wounds were made in the fleshy part of the shoulder and chest.
