C.J. Haley, an alum of Dallas Jesuit High School, is the son of Charles Haley, the only player in NFL history to play for the winning team in five Super Bowls. Three of those were with the Dallas Cowboys where he was one of the league's elite pass rushers.
The younger Haley, however, is a 5-foot-1
0, 180-pound defensive back.
"Everybody hears 'Haley' and they expect 6-foot, 200-something pounds," C.J. Haley said. "Then they see me and say, 'Oh.'"
He admits there is some pressure having such a famous football-playing father, but he's dealt with it.
"When I was a little kid dad just told me 'Be yourself, you're not me,'" Haley said.
Haley was an infant when his dad joined the Cowboys and was 5 when he won his last one.
"I remember him playing but most of the time I was passed out in my grandma's lap," Haley said.
He does remember Super Bowl XXX -- sort of.
"I got to say, 'We're going to Disney World,'" he said.
