Former head coach Whitten to be WR coach

Another blast from UTEP's past, Todd Whitten, will complete UTEP's staff when he is announced Thursday afternoon.

Whitten spent last year as the head coach at Arlington Heights High School but was in the collegiate ranks for 23 years before that, including a stint at UTEP as running backs coach in 1994-95 when Sean  Kugler was here.
He was a head coach at Tarleton State, then Sam Houston State, from 2000-09 where he compiled a combined record of 70-51.
