Coach Mike Price briefly described it in the postgame as a "minor concussion" but quickly corrected himself and said there are not minor concussions. He Monday and Tuesday that Edwards was unlikely to play against Ole Miss, but Edwards passed the required concussion test and except for wearing a red no-hit jersey, was a full go Wednesday and will play both receiver and primary punt returner against Ole Miss.
"That's by far the most pressure I've faced on a test at UTEP," Edwards joked. "It feels great getting back. It sucks watching practices so it feels great to get back out there."
"Whoopie!" Price exclaimed. "We needed to have another experienced receiver out there and I was worred about the punt return."
As a matter of self-imposed policy in this era of acute concussion awareness, Price tries to avoid asking trainer Dawn Hearne about the status of players with concussions, typically saying "they're back when they're cleared."
