Overheard from someone with an informed opinion:
If UTEP is going to be in a western division in an 18-team merged conference, that means two teams will have to be added on the eastern side.
Florida International in all sports and Temple in football only.
Temple is being invited as an all sports member in the Big East. As for FIU, they are still available. I'm guessing the additional team might be North Texas, Louisiana Tech, and maybe even UMASS (football only).

An informed opinion? Obviously not. As Adrian stated, Temple is headed to the Big East. FIU sucks, hope they are not in the same league as UTEP.

FIU is decent but has loads of potential and the conference would be tapping into Florida. I'd be okay with FIU and Louisiana Tech joining the mix.

I agree that it’s not very relevant, but isn’t the point of it to show what people are currently saying about a topic?
