Former KVIA reporter Celina Avila will return to the airwaves in the new year.
Avila announced via her Facebook page earlier this week that on Jan. 3, she will anchor the morning and noon newscasts on KESQ, the ABC affiliate in Palm Springs, Calif.
"I'm excited about getting home early to spend time with my boys and continuing to enjoy southern California," Avila wrote on her Facebook page.
El Pasoans will be able to watch Avila's newscasts online at www.kesq.com.

I knew she wouldn't be off the air for to long. She's way too beautiful and too intelligent to stay at home all day. I'm sure she'll have a devoted following there like she did here, especially if she wears the short skirts again.

We miss her already! So talented and beautiful! She was a great asset to KVIA and a great reporter too!

At least she's doing what she loves. Being a good loving wife and being an anchor for the news.

Please PAY YOUR TRAFFIC TICKET(S)!!! Remember, you're no longer in El Paso and there won't be any Deputy Chief of Police to call if you get arrested for outstanding warrant(s) like you did here in "Chuco" town.

Good for you Celina!

Woo Sean Paisano you sure are a cutup for bringing up Celina's ticket fiasco from a few years back! Way to keep it current! Maybe you can bust on OJ for making a run for it in the white Bronco while you're at it!

Good luck, Celina. You're a beautiful, talented reporter. Palm Springs is hot! Pack your bikini.

To "uh huh." How funny you mention OJ, because I have a picture with Mark Furhman (yes that Mark Furhman) when I took an Interrogation Course at the LAPD Academy back in 1991. Back then, however, he was just an instructor at the LAPD academy and had not made detective yet. After 22 years in law enforcement (yes me), you get to see-and do and participate...sadly-in many things that if they came to light, would make the Chicago Police Department (of the 1920's. 30's, 40's) seem like alter boys.
