KFOX-TV Channel 14 (cable Channel 8) did not start its 5 p.m. newscast this week as originally announced. The station will retain its 6 p.m. newscast until further notice.
John Witte, the station's general manager, said in an e-mail that the 5 p.m. newscast idea is not yet dead.
"We decided we needed to do more research. We will be doing that research sometime in the very near future," he said.
KFOX went ahead and proceeded with some other programming changes. Dr. Phil is no longer on at 5 p.m. and instead the station used a successful formula: putting on an episode of The Simpsons on that time slot. They're also starting to air syndicated episodes of How I Met Your Mother at 5:30 p.m. and Two and a Half Men at 6:30 p.m.

Two and a Half Men has always been syndicated at the 630pm time. Major fail for whoever wrote this.

Hi, it's me Sancho Pansa. Can Kfox please air old episodes of Nico Lico. The show showcased a clown, cartoons in Spanish, and kids dancing or singing. Nico Lico was the original "Krusty the clown" of Juarez. Oh boy, those were the days. Got home from school, went to the bathroom, ate something, channel surfed the English stations, and eventually tuned in to some goof ball dancing on the Nico Lico show. The winner of the talent competition was awared a cake. Even better, KFOX should develop its own clown show.

Market research before making a major move? That's a novel idea - I'm so glad Mr. (Dim)Witte thought of that.

Mr. Dim Witte didn't think to do research, it was corporate. KFOX management never told their parent company of the move, and when they found out they said no.

Where and when are they airing the new episodes of Dr. Phil if it is no longer being aired at 5pm? This is very discouraging! It's a new season! Do they have the authority do just not show it?! Who do I have to talk to? I couldn't find an email contact on the kfox website!
Thanks!

Dr. Oz is on KVIA at 3:00. You might try tuning in to his show to see if that will satisfy your urge to receive a doctor's advice.
Also, I saw Gustavo last night on KVIA Extra at 10:35. He was really on a roll! His points were salient and his delivery was smooth as silk - I wonder if he's contemplating the leap from print to television media?

Erika - Dr. Phil is still on KFOX, now at 10AM Monday thru Friday.

What happened to the EP Times and KFOX deal? Another little surprise from O'Hara and her lies.
