Isn't it interesting that shortly after Gene Savard says he's leaving town that we get this news. Hmmmmm......

In the know

From Newsblues.com:

(Also owners of KTSM TV El Paso)

White Knight Broadcasting's WVLA-33-NBC and Communication Corp's WGMB-44-Fox in Baton Rouge (Market #95) have shuttered their combined news department and laid off staff. Both stations will continue to air newscasts, but they will originate from Comm Corp sister station KETK-56-NBC in Tyler, TX (Market #111).

Yesterday, we told you that Comm Corp's KWKT-44-Fox in Waco (Market #95) had also canned its news department and would pick up a 9 p.m. newscast from KETK-56-NBC.

White Knight Broadcasting and Communication Corp were both rescued from bankruptcy in 2007 by Silver Point Capital, a hedge fund specializing in takeovers of companies in financial distress.

Wonder what is future at KTSM
