The El Paso Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of police officer (lateral transfer). The application filing period is April 15 - May 5. The position is open only to those who have at least one year of commissioned full-time police officer experience in a law enforcement agency, or who have previously graduated from the El Paso Police Academy.
The eight-week lateral academy class is tentatively scheduled to begin in August. Starting pay is commensurate with experience.
