Former Democratic state Rep. Norma Chávez said Tuesday on Facebook that she apologized to former state Rep. Paul Moreno for getting involved in the campaign to oust him from the state House seat he held for 40 years.
Chávez helped state Rep. Marisa Marquez, D-El Paso, in her successful 2008 bid against Moreno for the Texas House District 77 seat. Moreno later joined then state Sen. Eliot Shapleigh in supporting now state Rep. Naomi Gonzalez's campaign to unseat Chávez.
Below is the post from Chávez's Facebook page
"The greatest thing that happened yesterday, Halloween October 31, 2011 is that I had the chance to speak to Paul Moreno and apologize. Seeing him early in the evening at the L&J, I told him I was sorry that I helped Marisa Marquez in her race against him. I wrote all of her radio spots, TV scripts and rewrote or wrote 85% of her mail against him. And I was wrong. He deserved to go out the way he wanted to and he didn't get that opportunity. I had something to do with that. And low and behold, I didn't go out the way I wanted. A big boulder off my back now that I have done it, told him "I'm sorry". Two words....a blessing beyond comprehension!!"

Who gives a shite. Is Norma in burger town flipping fries for a living now?

Took guts to do. There is no benefit to her doing that the Morenos hate her.

Sure, Norma. As though the choice was between you and Paul. If that were the case Paul would have ran you over.
Are you sure Paul was even listening to you? Or did he confuse you for kitchen staff?

Naomi Gonzalez
Eliot Shapleigh
Dora Oaxaca
Lily Ruiz
Alfredo Longoria
Marisa Marquez
Blanche Darley
Veronica Escobar
Susie Byrd
The Tiguas
The UFW
UT alumni
Frito the Bandido
Chico's Tacos
L&J's

Anyone who has the misfortune of having known Norma Chavez knows that she is not genuine. Why would she do this? She's probably interested in running for her seat again (or another) and doesn't want the Moreno family to help whoever she is opposing (as they did Naomi Gonzalez).
If she were truly genuine and simply wanted to make amends for the "blessing" of it, she wouldn't have broadcast it on Facebook in order to gain praise and accolades for doing what other human beings do every day.

To quote NC: "Two words....a blessing beyond comprehension!"

and 12 charges in the state of Arizona

The way I see it, if numbers don't lie, I'm glad someone ousted Paul Moreno. It doesn't matter who it was or why they did it. The point is, he never really did anytging great for El Paso and we needed a change.

I agree with Ontiveros; now both Moreno & Norma Chavez should spend time donating their time to many of the organizations that "wasted" their time & money to put them & keep them in office/for way too long. Serving El Paso, is not just being elected to toot your own horn...Give back former representatives and do something worthwhile with your lives instead of just planning on getting even.
