Marquez: I will support Straus for speaker

State Rep.-elect Marisa Marquez,D-El Paso, said she had a telephone conversation today with House speaker candidate state Rep. Joe Straus, of San Antonio, and now plans to support him to lead the chamber.

"I like him," Marquez said this afternoon. "I think he is going to be bringing a fair perspective to the speaker’s position."
Marquez was the only member of the El Paso delegation who had not committed to Straus since he became a candidate on Friday.
Opponents of embattled Republican House Speaker Tom Craddick chose Straus to lead their charge against the Midland legislator.
Marquez said she wanted to meet Straus, a two-term legislator and wealthy businessman, before committing to vote for him.
During their phone conversation today, Marquez said she asked Straus about his experience with El Paso and told him about her priorities for the Central El Paso district she represents.
"I feel better about supporting him," she said. "I'm sure he’ll recognize us over here."

Well I am shocked that this Dumbocrat actually exercised good judgement. While campaigning, the obamite said she would only support another Dumbocrat.

Richard, you're an ass.

There is no Democrat dummie, who is she supposed to vote for? Paul Moreno...Get with it Dick!
