Former legislator, first Hispanic railroad commissioner dies
Lena Guerrero, a former legislator from Austin and the first Hispanic female railroad commissioner, died yesterday.
A saddened state Rep. Norma Chavez, D-El Paso, said today she planned to speak at a rosary tomorrow for the former legislator.
Though she knew Guerrero was ill, Chavez said her death came as a shock.
"She was like everybody's sister," Chavez said.
