Two birds with one press release

Democratic candidate for the Texas House Marisa Marquez issued this press release after the parade yesterday honoring Fort Bliss troops. She offers her personal thanks for the soldiers' service and then lambastes incumbent state Rep. Paul Moreno for missing meetings of the military committee to which he is assigned in the Texas House.

MARQUEZ ISSUES PERSONAL THANKS TO OUR TROOPS
CITES FACT THAT PAUL MORENO MISSED KEY MILITARY COMMITTEE HEARINGS

El Paso – Marisa Marquez issued a statement today thanking the men and women of our Armed Forces for their dedication and bravery.  “I want to personally thank the men and women serving our great country for their bravery and resolve,” stated Marisa Marquez, candidate for State Representative District 77.  “They are the backbone of what make our country great and answer the call to freedom each and every day.”

In marked contrast, during the last three legislative sessions (2003 – 2007) Paul Moreno missed more than 75% of the hearings for the Committee on Defense Affairs and State - Federal Relations.   “El Paso and our military lose when Paul Moreno is absent,” said Marquez.  “Our soldiers deserve someone who is willing not only to show up on their behalf but also fight for them in Austin.   Paul Moreno doesn’t do either.”

Marque graduated from Faith Christian Academy in El Paso and received
her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business
Economics from the University of Notre Dame.  In 2004, Marquez
completed her coursework in the Masters of Theology program at the
University of Notre Dame.  Marquez is actively involved with the El
Paso community such as Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, the International
Hispanic Cultural Institute and Tepeyac Institute.
