State Rep. Pat Haggerty issued the press release below late Wednesday, calling on his Republican challenger Dee Margo to answer seven questions about the FBI public corruption scandal in El Paso. At the end he tells Margo to submit his written response to the Times by noon Thursday.
I just checked my fax, and nothing. I asked editors in the newsroom if they got anything. Nothing there either.

Haggerty Challenges Dee Margo to Answer the Following
“Come Clean SEVEN Questions” About
Margo’s Involvement With the FBI Corruption Investigation & Crime

El Paso, Wednesday, February 27, 2008--- Rep. Pat Haggerty is formally challenging his opponent Dee Margo to immediately answer the following “Come Clean SEVEN Questions.”   Haggerty has sent these questions via FAX to Margo and challenged him to publicly answer them by noon on Thursday.

“These are the corruption questions Dee Margo does not want to answer, but needs to answer as a candidate for public office,” said Haggerty.  “After months of repeatedly lying about my record, Dee needs to come clean with the people of El Paso and answer each question with a simple yes or no.”

“Come Clean SEVEN Questions”
1)    Did you use arrested child pornographer Fernando Parra in one of your online campaign advertisements in your losing Senate campaign? Dee’s Answer: YES or NO
2)    Did you and Randy McGraw, as principals with Crest, a health advisory firm you own, each provide a $500.00 political contribution to at least one County Official with the purpose to influence their decision on a contract to provide services regarding review and evaluation of health plans for county employees? Dee’s Answer: YES or NO
3)    As a principal for Crest, were you responsible for making recommendations to the city, county, and school district to hire ACCESS as their third party administrator? Dee’s Answer: YES or NO
4)    Is it true that ACCESS provided payments for trip and expenses to Randy McGraw as an exchange for Crest making recommendations for ACCESS contracts? Dee’s Answer: YES or NO
5)    When Holmes and Murphy out of Dallas underbid Crest for a county contract by $50,000, three times lower than the bid by Crest, did you sabotage their opportunity for winning the contract by requesting that the item be tabled behind closed doors?  Dee’s Answer: YES or NO
6)    Did you boast about your relationship with and contributions to Judge Anthony Cobos in an El Diario article published 11/06/06? Dee’s Answer: YES or NO
7)    Do you feel the Public Integrity Unit should investigate Speaker Tom Craddick for felony bribery under the Texas Speakers Statute when he punished the El Paso legislative delegation by taking money intended for the El Paso medical school and using it instead for a pork project in Midland? Dee’s Answer: YES or NO

Please respond to the people of El Paso via the El Paso Times by noon, on Thursday, February 28 with a written response to the El Paso press.

Deborah Kastrin gave $500 to Luis Sarinana campaign. Mr. Sarinana has been mentioned as a co-conspirator in the on going El Paso corruption case. Ms. Kastrin is closely connected to Sen. Shapleigh. Looks like the Senator has some explaining to do. Ms. Kastrin also gave $3,400 to State Rep. Haggerty. It seems like Mr. Haggerty needs to look in the mirror when talking about corruption. Maybe he will see the Senator in that mirror.
